May 2nd - Komen Walk for a Cure

Please join Team Knit Las Vegas on May 2nd 2009 in Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas for the Susan Komen Walk for a Cure. Signing up to join our team is easy; just visit this site and click on 'join our team' and fill in the appropraite information. If you are unable to join us for the walk then please consider supporting us in one of two ways: there is the Sleep in for the Cure which means you sign up as a non walking team member so you still get the tee shirt and your name on our team roster (and your sign up fee is still donated to the Komen Foundation) OR you can simply donate to the Komen Foundation through our team page as well. While we will gladly and graciously accept any donations on your part for this more than worthy cause; we'd really love to have you walk with us.

If you have questions about the walk or would like information on carpooling to the walk site please call the shop or leave a comment here and we will gladly answer any questions you have and offer information about carpooling as it comes available. We don't have any confirmed plans for it yet, but if we get enough people interested we will coordinate something.

Shame I am arriving a few days after the walk. My home is in New Zealand where I am a designer of knitwear, see my site www.lynadell.com
I am doing a talk to a group in New Mexico on, 'making the shape fit' and would like to do these talks through the States when I am here.

I'd like to add to the Pink scarf exerpt. Last month I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. To say that my thyroid was something I never paid much attn. to would be putting it mildly! As it turns out, a purple scarf happens to be the emblem of the Light of Life Foundation, and purple is the color for Thyroid Cancer. Just had a total thyroidectomy on July 1st and now I am awaiting Radiation--- wish me luck! Please check out CHECKYOURNECK.COM Love to all- Jennifer

Maybe you could send me the dates for 2011for the walk and I could make it then. This year IU am toi owalk for Relay for Life to raise money for cancer in Gisborne in March. We have a group of people walking for 24 hours. Should be fun and raise the awareness of cancer too.
All the best for the day/night - the Sleep in is a fun idea as well.
